Today was my first time painting at the lovely Longship Brewery. Beer and Brushes was such a fun event because I got a great group and the delicious beers helped too! I’ve been having a great time teaching art to the youth in Mira Mesa. This summer we have been mainly working on painting and a few classes previous to this one we had been working on proportions. I had a fun time painting for Robin’s birthday at Escondido. I like being able to travel for work sometimes to meet nice people. When I first got there I noticed some neat horses and it was really hot so it was apt what the birthday lady chose to paint.
Today was painting at the park family edition. I have been hosting a paint workshop for children at the Mira Mesa community park and I wanted to do something for the families as well. I got the pleasure to do Artea’s paint party, they were a pretty fun loving and funny group. We got started a bit late and painted even when it got dark. I had a good time and Artea and everyone were so hospitable and their paintings turned out awesome!
Nadine received a gift of my class for her birthday from her sons because it’s Nadine’s dream to paint when she retires. I asked what flower she liked and we got an image and just went at it. I have been teaching some of my students sculpture and ceramics. These are a few that I had left over from examples and I found that these coil pots made perfect succulent/cacti homes. The last one with the plant inside is a student’s and they look so good all together. ?
Beata shared this super cute picture of her daughter atop the Mira Mesa caterpillar to me and I noticed that the caterpillar got a bit worn during 4th of July festivities so I gave it another touch up below. ?
